fOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

David has been working in the intersection of business and social impact for over a decade leading and advising social enterprises.  

David is typically engaged by an investor/funder to either launch a business or turn it around.  In the case of launching a business, activities include vetting the revenue model, developing an operations and staffing plan, procuring and installing systems (finance and technology), initial staffing, identifying and securing initial customers, generating revenue and ultimately hiring a replacement.  For turnarounds, the range of activities has included revamping operations, introducing new lines of business, acquisition and/or sale of a business unit.  Additional responsibilities have included managing existing staff (hire/fire/counsel) and hiring new senior management.

Previously, David held leadership positions at REDF and Juma Ventures.  Prior to entering the social enterprise space, David worked in corporate development and co-founded a start-up in international trade.  He began his career with Rosecliff, a private merchant bank focused on leveraged transactions.  

He received his MBA from Columbia Business School and BA from Wesleyan University.
